Nomination Overview
Future Golfers of America is currently accepting nominations for our inaugural athlete class launching in Fall 2026.

Nominations are the first step in our athlete selection process and allow us to identify junior golfers with long term competitive potential who may benefit from FGA support.

Selected athletes will participate in our FGA Pathway Program beginning in September.
Who Is Eligible for Nomination?
FGA considers nominations for junior golfers who:

-
Are at least 11 years old at the time of nomination
-
Demonstrate sustained interest in competitive golf, not recreational play
-
Are actively training or preparing for organized competition
-
Demonstrate intent to compete at higher levels of junior golf
-
Face verified financial or access related barriers that limit development opportunities
-
Show coachability, commitment, and readiness for structured programming
While most nominees are middle or high school aged, younger athletes may be considered when a clear competitive trajectory is demonstrated.
Who Can Nominate a Junior Golfer?
Nominations may be submitted by individuals familiar with the athlete’s golf development, character, and circumstances, including:

-
Parents or legal guardians
-
Coaches and instructors
-
Teachers, mentors, or school counselors
-
Community or youth organization leaders
-
Family members or trusted advocates
Anyone who recognizes genuine competitive potential in a junior golfer is encouraged to nominate.
Program Structure
Future Golfers of America follows a phased athlete development model designed to identify, evaluate, and support competitive junior golfers responsibly.

GATE Program (Golf Access Through Evaluation)
The GATE Program is FGA’s athlete evaluation and selection phase.

Rather than a traditional open enrollment model, FGA uses GATE to identify junior golfers who demonstrate competitive potential, commitment, coachability, and verified financial or access based need.

Selected nominees may be invited into the GATE process, where families and athletes participate in evaluation conversations, readiness assessments, and program fit review before final selection.

Participation in GATE does not guarantee placement in the FGA Pathway Program.
FGA Pathway Program
Athletes successfully selected through the GATE process may be invited into the FGA Pathway Program.

This is FGA’s core long term athlete development program designed to remove barriers that prevent talented junior golfers from progressing competitively.

Support may include:

-
Training access
-
Practice and course access
-
Equipment assistance
-
Tournament support
-
Competitive development planning
-
Mentorship and accountability

Important Notes
-
Submission of a nomination does not guarantee acceptance
-
Selection is based on eligibility, demonstrated competitive potential, commitment, and verified financial or access based need
-
Athlete capacity is limited for FGA’s inaugural Pathway Program class
-
The FGA Pathway Program is a structured long term athlete development initiative, not a one time assistance program
-
Current Pathway Program participation is limited to athletes able to consistently train and compete in the San Antonio area
-
Competitive junior golfers outside our current Pathway footprint may find future support opportunities through the #DriveForJuniors National Fund
Beyond San Antonio?

Future Golfers of America is launching the #DriveForJuniors National Fund to help expand opportunity for select competitive junior golfers across the country who demonstrate serious competitive intent and verified need.

While FGA’s hands on Pathway Program is currently local, the National Fund is designed to help fuel opportunity beyond our physical footprint.

National support request intake is expected to open in September 2026.
